Prabhava Institute of Inclusive Mental Health

The institute is formed with the primary objective of making mental health education and services accessible to all sections of the society. The institute is built on the philosophy of Inclusion, Community Orientation and Accessibility. We intend to focus on developing training and outreach programs to destigmatize mental health and related services.

HOW WE LIVE OUR PHILOSOPHY

The learning is rich when there is exchange of diverse experiences. In this regard, we intend to recruit participants from diverse backgrounds and make it inclusive. We intend to create a microcosm of our society in the training group.

We believe that for psychotherapy to be accessible it should be taken back into the communities. We want mental health education to reach the communities of minorities. For this to happen, we intend to have participants from the communities who can represent unique needs of those communities.

Mental health education in India is in the danger of becoming elite and we want to make the program financially accessible. We do not want fees as a reason for people to not join the program. We do this by offering bursaries for people who may need financial assistance.

Deepak is a computer science engineering graduate and has a master’s degree in psychotherapy, specializing in Sexuality and Sexual Counselling As a psychotherapist he works with clients from all sections of the society in an attempt to make psychotherapy affordable and accessible – in individual and group setting. In the area of sexuality, he focuses on helping clients accept themselves, building support systems that can help them experience inclusion and developing safe behaviors.

  • M.S. in Sexuality and Sexual Counselling, 2012.

  • Diploma in SAATA, 2015.

  • SAATA Advanced Diploma in Transactional Analysis, 2018.

  • Certified Transactional Analyst – Psychotherapy (CTA), 2018.

  • Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (PTSTA), 2021
